this should have been mentioned by alan licht in one of his lists. people who like minimal/repetetive music like roberto cacciaplagia's "sei note in logica", piero milesi's "modi", wim mertens' "maximizing the audience", lost jockey's debut, etc. should get along with this very well. it's very different from his támad a szél - hagnapló, that was released two years later in 1987.

i was listening to one of my favorite records of all time a lot in recent weeks, and thus decided to share it with you. it's the debut record of THIS KIND OF PUNISHMENT. TKP was formed by Peter and Graeme Jefferies following the end of NOCTURNAL PROJECTIONS. there were a lot of great bands in new zealand in the 80s such as DADAMAH or THE TERMINALS - but this record here is in my humble opinion the finest of the darkest.

my homage to the name- and motto-givers of this blog. first official release of these fukkers of death in more than a decade: a tape limited to 100 copies, out on headsplit-records. pure mayhem. i miss this band so very much. i remember both concerts very vividly that i was lucky to witness. the guys are all still pretty active musically. but SADX seems to remain buried for many reasons. one is the rip-off by labels they always had to endure. another reason may be: in extreme music they simply reached THE level of what can be done.

another rare gem out of fortress dragonclaw ruppertsgrün. drakh used the word >nebelborn< for four tapes of which three you'll now find on this blog already. the fourth and the last >hell, kaos & konquest< will follow some time sooner or later. >cyclop's pyramid< is better than the two previously posted ones. thanks to the vespadevil from braunauland for the rip.

the original demo. the sound is better. different font, different pic, glossy paper. no lyrics, no contact details, no hails to anyone. self-released (12 copies) before chanteloup spread another hundred. forwarded upon release by drakh. one of the (un)holy grails.

oliver "winterblut / l'hiver" heide recorded these awesome pieces of improv-black metal back in '97 in his nachtschrei-dungeon, where all early winterblut-recordings were forged, too. it was released by darkmoon spaller via sombre rex. some people may have been introduced to it by insomnia distro's "... for all hate in man" #4 cassette-compilation, but it unfortunately didn't get the attention it deserved when it was available. and seemingly it still is lying dormant buried. unfairly. one of my favorite black metal releases ever. worship!

this was a random bargain back in '97. i didn't expect much when i bought it. side A featuring the swedish band VASSAGO is really rotten - thus i excluded their part from uploading here. they are beneath notice. i considered "hail war!" always to be a great single-sided mini-LP by the german project ANTICHRIST hailing from cologne. since nowhere to be found on the internet right now, but of quality beyond fate for utter oblivion, this piece of art just had to be unleashed and shared. sometimes comparisons do help: mix GORGOROTH' "pentagram" with VONDUR's "striðsyfirlýsing" and add some VONic "satanic blood"-spirits to it - voila!
